Have you seen the photograph by Justin Hofman. The one where the little seahorse is floating in the ocean holding onto a plastic swab. If you haven’t than be sure to view it here: https://www.justin-hofman.com/viral-seahorse-print

If this doesn’t make huge impact on you, then ask your doctor to check if you still have a heart. Because mine broke in half when I saw this. The impact of our daily choices and buying habits has a huge impact on our environment and our fellow humans. Eventually our bad habits are going to come back around and effect not just us but our children and grandchildren. A grim thought.

However, there is hope.

And where there is hope there is a way through this environmental damage caused by us humans. You can be one of the courageous many that are making the changes necessary for all our futures. So how do we help our little seahorse and many more sea creatures affected by our waste. By redefining our habits and changing what we buy and how we live. A good start would be a simple switch from regular plastic swabs to Eco-friendly bamboo cotton swabs. These little swabs aren’t just 100% biodegradable they are vegan and cruelty free.

I found these incredible swabs at my local supermarket. All I had to do was make a conscious effort not to pick up the first swabs on the shelf but really have a look at my options. It helped that my list included the words 'eco-friendly' just to remind myself to be aware of what I was buying. That is what making the little changes are all about. Taking the time to view your options and buying the things that are good for you and good for the environment, or by sacrificing a little and not purchasing those luxury items that are bad for the environment, no matter how much you may want it. You could probably do without it anyways.

A little about these amazing cotton swabs I found.

The company that makes these Eco-Friendly and socially responsible bamboo cotton swabs as well as many other eco-friendly products is The Humble Co. These swabs are designed in Sweden, by Doctors who care about you and about children in need. The swabs are Vegan and cruelty free. Made from 100% biodegradable bamboo and BPA free, naturally colored, cotton. They are also available in a variety of colors including white, pink and blue. That’s not all, a portion of The Humble Co. purchases goes towards The Humble Foundation. Which not only gives these products to children in need but also provides professional and sustainable healthcare project round the world. There is hope. It is possible for so much good to come from a simple switch in your spending habits. Just choose the right products on your next shopping trip and start reducing your carbon footprint. Your cotton bud may still end up in the ocean if you do not dispose of it correctly. But if the little seahorse does get a hold of it, it will be no more dangerous to him than a twig that washed into the ocean after a storm. A little change today can have a huge impact tomorrow.

What kind of supermarket buyer are you? Do you have a list or just wing it? Do you look for eco-friendly products?
